Social Service Sericulture Project Trust implements a 'soil to silk-fabric' demonstration, production cum training unit without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, race, religion, or economic conditions. It also intents to promote employment potential, self sustainability and overall development of the rural areas in India with stress on women development through eco-friendly, organic farming methods based on agricultural activities such as sericulture, dairy farming, sheep farming, poultry farming, etc.
SSSPT takes up the task of providing self-employment to the rural poor, teaches them self sustainable organic agricultural methods, launches special programmes for the betterment of the women members of the society and conducts programmes to inculcate among the children the values of self reliance, self discipline and self determination. It also formulates alternative teaching techniques and audio visual materials for the development of the children and arranges training programmes for teachers and animators involved in rural development.
SSSPT organises women into associations which are proposed to be self reliant through governmental schemes and their own projects, and trains students, youth and women in alternative and creative communication techniques. It also provides legal aid to people of unorganised sectors (conducting legal aid camps) and instructs them through legal literacy programmes to secure justice for all.
SSSPT conducts environmental education programmes to individuals and NGOs, undertakes plantations of nurseries and trees, and promotes wasteland development programmes and eco-farming. It evolves all means to help and educate the weaker sections and to protect consumer rights. It is also involved in health programmes both preventive and curative in rural and urban areas.
SSSPT studies the problems of the weaker sections of the society like Harijans, bonded labourers, casual labourers, landless labourers and contract labourers and any other unorganised labour segments and focuses attention on them. It also works in collaboration with similar social organisations in India and abroad, to bring about national integration and international understanding and strives for harmony and peace among various races and religions.
SSSPT enables the welfare organisations to formulate and carry out common programmes and supports like minded organisations and individuals. It establishes community-life experience centres based on local needs with the view to initiate and organise local based economic projects that would serve as a base for training, research, experiment and for supporting and maintaining the expanding activities of the trust. The centres would also subscribe to the process of social justice and function as an institution of out-of-school education through study groups, seminars, workshops and such other activities and as a forum for job placing and evaluation.
SSSPT plans to establish branches, offices, regional committees and to affiliate to international organizations of common interest and national organizations working for the weaker sections. It intents to establish and maintain residential schools for rehabilitation of child labourers and reference library with research facilities for the benefit of economically and educationally downtrodden people.
SSSPT will organize camps, training programmes, competitions, seminars, conferences, symposia, exhibitions, tours, etc., to develop creativity, personality and scientific outlook among students. It will establish and maintain an endowment fund for providing scholarships, loans, books, etc., to the students from the weaker sections and promote educational economic and social development of tribal people, landless agricultural labourers, women and scheduled castes.
